A few weeks ago, what appears to be an early XBOX 360/XBOX ONE Kinect sensor appeared for sale.
The codename for this device is Adder. While we have seen many Kinect prototypes, we knew this one was a bit more special and just had to save it.
This sensor is built out of acrylic with large screws holding it in place, it houses many debug ports/connectors and seems to be more of a rough prototype than use by game developers.
It’s quite chunky too, and has a hefty heatsink, and two high powered fans to keep her cool.
Have you seen one or do you know more information?
Please feel free to reach out!
VGPM will be 1 year old next month, and we hope to continue saving video game history.
We still need help finding premises, so if your company wishes to sponsor/support the museum please reach out.
UPDATE: It turns out this is a Microsoft HoloLens prototype, the team initially used XBOX Kinect technology to produce early prototypes such as the one we found.
